| The appearance of a large crater at the junction of the calle Cádiz and the Gran Vía Germanías in Valencia city-centre caused massive delays for Gran Vía Marqués del Turía-bound motorists at rush-hour this morning with maximum tailbacks of 11km reported backed up along the CV-35 'Pista de Silla' and 3km jams for Valencia-bound A-3 travellers.
Although the exact cause of the landslide has not been officially confirmed, a combination of the recent torrential rain and work nearby on the new underground stretch of the AVE fast-train link seems to be the most likely explanation at this stage. |
