| A 27 year old man died of an electric shock yesterday morning as he and a colleague were trying to repair a TV transmitter on the outskirts of Guadix (Granada) that has been out of action since last Thursday.
It appears that the victim was electrocuted as he was handling low tension cables near the top of the tower.
Three of his colleagues managed to get the injured man back down to ground level, and did their best to resuscitate him until they were relieved by emergency medics, who arrived on the scene by helicopter.
The victim has been identified as a local man, who had been working for the Prodiel company subcontracted by Sevillana de Electricidad to maintain the facility, for about six months. |
