|  It seems that an explosion at a chalet in Estivella (Valencia) at around 11pm last Saturday night was caused by the three victims handling gun powder in "an illegal and clandestine way to manufacture fireworks," according to local mayor, Robert Renau.
A 65 year old man, and two women (aged 62 and 28), were injured in the blast that also caused substantial damage to the property.
The man, who suffered burns to both legs and upper body as well as a serious head injury, was taken to La Fe Hospital in the provincial capital while the two women are recovering at Sagunto Hospital.
The older woman suffered upper-body blast injuries while the younger one has a broken tibia (shinbone). |
