A 33 year old French national originally from Morocco was arrested yesterday evening after being questioned about the death of his wife and baby whose bodies had been found at a flat on the Empuriabrava residential estate in Castelló d'Empúries (Girona) earlier in the day, at around 3.30pm.

Some evidence of bruising was found on the body of the man's 30 year old wife, who was also a French national from Morocco, though the actual cause of death will not be confirmed until the autopsy results become available.

It is also not known at this stage how the couple's five month old baby boy died.

The man claims to have found the bodies when he returned to the flat, into which the family had moved only a few days previously.
