| Activists from the Extremadura branch of the Ecologists in Action association have petitioned the regional government to withdraw the classification of Coria's San Juan bull festival as a 'Fiesta of Regional Touristic Interest'.
The festival, which will be celebrated this weekend, involves sticking a large number of barbs into a defenceless bull that will be later shot through the skull.
Describing the activity as "unjustifiable animal crulety," the ecologists also demand that the regional government stops using public money to subsidise the event. |
