| Organisers of the 12th Campus Party Valencia have confirmed that visitors will be able to enjoy internet connection speeds of 7.5Gbps, twice as fast as at last year's event, and some 7,500 times quicker than Telefónica's bog-standard 1Mbps broadband offer.
Event director, Miguel Ángel Expósito, announced today that among the guests at this year's show, which will be held between July 28th and August 3rd at the Féria Valencia exhibition site, will be "the father of the internet, and the man most responsible for today's worldwide web, the creator of HTML code and the hyperlink," Sir Tim Berners-Lee, who will inaugurate the conference next Tuesday before chairing a roundtable conference later the same day.
Other guests include PHP creator Rasmus Lerdorf, Linux International boss, Jon 'Mad Dog' Hall, and bloggers, Mary Hodder and Regine Debatty.
For the first time ever this year, the exhibition has been held outside Spain with successful shows in Bogota (Colombia) and Sao Paulo (Brazil).
With a total budget of 6.3 million euros, organisers are hoping to beat last year's attendance record of 8,100 visitors. |
