| A meeting last Monday between the MD of the Pirelli plant in Manresa, Marco Tronchetti, regional government president, José Montilla, and regional Business, Innovation and Higher Education minister, Josep Huguet, resulted in a deal that secures 280 jobs at the factory threatened by the crisis currently affecting the motor industry.
At the end of the meeting Mr Tronchetti promised that the factory would remain open due to the "strong links" established in the region, and indicated that the company and the regional government have agreed to further talks "to explore innovative new ways of working together." |
