| Drug tests have been ordered for a 35 year old man without a valid driving licence, who ploughed into a group of teenagers, one of whom died, after losing control of his car while exceeding the maximum speed limit.
The incident occurred in the village of San Bartolomé de las Abiertas (Toledo) at around 12.45pm yesterday lunchtime as the group of youngsters (aged 13-16) were sitting chatting on the kerb of the calle Borrego (photo).
Both the driver, who tested negative for alcohol, and his 34 year old male passenger, were arrested at the scene.
It has been confirmed that the 14 year old boy that died, Adrián, was spending the summer with his grandparents.
Of the six others injured, a 15 year old girl with crushed vertebrae and a 13 year old boy with a broken leg, are recovering at Talavera de la Reina Hospital.
