A 47-year-old man who stabbed his ex-wife outside a cafeteria in Villanueva de la Serena last Sunday has been arrested after presenting himself at the Guardia Civil barracks in Baena (Córdoba) earlier today.
A warrant for his arrest had been issued by the National Police immediately after the man ran off having stabbed his estranged partner several times in front of their daughter outside the Cafe Sildavia at around 10pm last Sunday evening.
His victim, who suffered multiple stab wounds to her legs and abdomen, remains in a stable condition in the intensive care unit of Benito-Villanueva Hospital.

A woman in her early forties was badly injured last night after being attacked by her ex-husband while she was enjoying an evening drink with their daughter outside the Cafe Sildavia in Villanueva de la Serena (Badajoz).
Eye-witnesses report that the woman was stabbed several times in the legs and abdomen at around 10pm by her former partner.
He ran off after being hit across the back with a chair by one of the other customers, and remains at large.
His ex-wife was rushed by police to the Don Benito-Villanueva Hospital while her daughter required treatment for shock.
