| With four ears, Miguel Ángel Perera, was the big winner of the third day of the San Lorenzo festival in Huesca yesterday while Cayetano Rivera, whose brother Francisco was performing on the same bill, was gored in the buttocks by the final bull of the afternoon having earlier been awarded both ears of his own first bull.
The injured matador defiantly got back to his feet to complete the slaughter before hobbling off to the ringside infirmary for emergency surgery.
Afterwards, Dr García confirmed that the unlucky bullfighter sustained a 10-12cm long wound with a maximum diameter of 8cm at point of entry, and will be out of action "for a minimum of two weeks."
He was later transferred to, and is now recovering at, the Santiago Clinic in Huesca. |
