| Pedro Marín was transferred to a general ward at Valencia's General Hospital this morning after spending the night in intensive care after emergency surgery.
The 21-year-old novice matador from Albacete is recovering from what has been described as "the worst goring at Valencia bullring in the last forty years" by the hospital's chief surgeon, Dr Cristóbal Zaragoza.
Marín was caught by his second bull of the afternoon, and sustained a 35cm-deep horn wound to the upper part of his right thigh that destroyed muscle tissue and sectioned several major veins and arteries.
Dr Zaragoza said that he cannot be sure at this stage exactly how long the young novice will need to recover from his injuries, but definitely ruled him out of his next corrida in Madrid on October 19th. |
