Environmental officers suspect that a dead lynx found on private property in the Sierra Morena, near Andújar (Jaén) last Friday, may have been poisoned.

So much so that an autopsy will be performed, and a dog sniffer team specialised in detecting poisoned bait was brought in yesterday to start scouring the surrounding area.

The dead lynx - a 5-year-old male - was located by means of a collar-tracking system introduced to protect what is one the world's most endangered species.
