| Escorted by Spanish judicial police, ETA terrorist, Javier Aguirre Odriozola, arrived in Madrid yesterday following his extradition by the French authorities.
Arrested in Bourges in January 2003 along with Javier Echevarría Jaúregui, alias 'Mortadelo', Odriozola was sentenced to serve eight years by a Parisian court in June 2004 for a number of offences including conspiring with criminals to commit acts of terrorism.
He will be tried at the High Court in Madrid by Judge Santiago Pedraz for belonging to a terrorist organisation and storing weapons, munitions and explosives with a view to committing acts of terrorism.
Born on April 26th, 1972 in Azpeitia (Guipúzcoa), Odriozola fled Spain in October 2001 following the detentions of three other members of the 'Aranba' cell, who were subsequently convicted of gathering information on potential targets. |
