| Regional Catalan police are investigating the murder of a Dutch man, who was shot to death outside his home on the El Casalot residential estate in Mont-roig del Camp (Tarragona) shortly before 9pm on New Year's Eve.
The man died in a hail of bullets in what appears to have been some kind of revenge killing, and detectives are investigating whether the victim was involved in some kind of criminal activity.
Fellow residents have expressed their surprise at the incident given that the estate is normally "very quiet and not at all dangerous."
It also seems that the majority of the properties on the estate are usually unoccupied except at weekends and during the holidays. |
