| The Constitutional Court has confirmed today that it will not allow an Demokrazia 3 Milioi (D3M) to appeal against the Supreme Court's decision to annul its list of candidates, making the decision absolutely final.
In a ruling made public this afternoon, the Constitutional Court stated that D3M 'has not precisely satisfied requirements to justify special constitutional importance' as laid down by the law.
There can be no appeal against this decision in which the Supreme Court ruled that the support and guidance given to D3M by the banned Batasuna party was 'evident'and that their candidates clearly had the objective of continuing the work of said party.
The Constitutional Court did however allow Askatasuna's appeal to go ahead and the State Prosecutor's Office has until 3pm tomorrow to present its allegations. A decision will have to be made by midnight on Friday, when the Basque Country regional electoral campaign officially begins.
