Four more bodies have been pulled out of the sea off Lanzarote today, bringing the total number of immigrants killed in the tragedy to 25, 19 of whom were children.

The body of one minor was found to the north of Los Cocoteros beach this morning and the latest corpses, those of children estimated to have been between 13 and 14 years old, were taken out of the sea this afternoon.

It was initially thought that there were 28 people on board the boat that capsized , but a later statement by one of the six survivors suggested that the actual figure was 32, prompting the emergency services to resume their search.  If this later statement is correct, only one body remains to be found, which would bring the total death toll to 26.
