| Five people were injured when part of the Can Ramis bus station in the Calle Príncipes de España, Alcúdia (Mallorca) collapsed just before 10 o´clock this morning.
Sources within the emergency services confirmed that one is in a serious condition and the other four have only slight injuries.
The seriously injured person, who suffered a skull trauma, was taken by a mobile intensive care vehicle to the Inca county hospital.
Three people with less serious injuries, including various traumas to the legs, arms, hips, back and abdomen, were taken to the Hospital de Muro.
A fourth person was treated by the emergency services at the site of the incident then allowed to go home.
Sources from within the regional Ministry for Employment and Education have confirmed that the metallic formwork on the second floor of the bus station, currently under construction, collapsed and fell onto people below.
The same sources have also stated that a government expert in the prevention of accidents in the workplace has already been to the scene to analyse the cause of the incident along with an inspector from the Ministry of Employment. |
