AN elderly man has been arrested in Píñar (Granada) for reportedly shooting his wife.

The accused, M.L.R., aged 76 is said to have confessed to customers in a local bar that he killed the woman in the family home.

Guardia Civil officers received a call from the bar saying the man had told them he gunned down his wife, also 76, at 08.00hrs yesterday morning.

They say the alleged killer made no attempt to hide his guilt from the police.
