| Guardia Civil agents have confiscated a 19.8kg consignment of cocaine at Loiu airport in the Biscay, norhern Spain.
According to infomation provided by local government officials, the cocaine was found in thepossession of two passengers who had come on a flight from Brazil, via Lisbon.
Although details of the time and date of the flight have not been released, police have confirmed that they consider it a 'hot' route, one that is 'regularly used to bring cocaine into Spain'.
The passengers in question aroused suspicion and a subsequent detailed search of their luggage revealed the cocaine in eighteen separate packets.
The two people arrested are aged 45 and 32 respectively, are both Spanish and live in Lleida. They have been remanded into custody awaiting trial. |
