| Firefighters are still looking for victims amongst the rubble of a building at number 20, Calle Zacarías Martínez in the Perpetuo Socorro area of Huesca, which was destroyed by an explosion today.
Intial investigations suggest that the explosion, that occurred at 14.45 this afternoon on the fourth floor of the building, was caused by a gas leak.
The two people who died were a 45-year-old Senagalese man who lived on the fourth floor and a 37-year-old Moroccan woman who lived on the floor below and was having lunch at the time.
The majority of the injured, including two girls aged 8 and 13, have been taken to the San Jorge hospital in Huesca, but one, a 41-year-old Spanish woman with serious burns, isiat Zaragoza's Hospital Miguel Servet.
The violent explosion has destroyed the fourth floor of the building completely and impacts from large pieces of rubble have caused serious damage to the third floor and to neighbouring properties. |
