A MAN who caused an explosion in an apartment block in which a 51-year-old man died and his 27-year-old daughter suffered injuries has been arrested and charged with negligent homicide. The accused, 62, was manipulating a gas bottle and National Police say the blast was caused by his error in connecting it. He is currently in Granada’s traumatology hospital suffering from burns to the face and chest, and a broken jaw. Officers initially believed he was a gas-board technician, but have now discovered he was not. The explosion, which happened at around 09.00hrs on Wednesday, caused serious damage to the block in the Cartuja neighbourhood of Granada, and to 12 cars parked below. A man in the flat next door was killed and his daughter suffered a broken leg.
