| Air Europa has announced plans to invest 10 million euros in extending its maintenance hangar at Son San Joan airport in Palma, Mallorca for 2010.
In a press conference today the airline's managing director, María José Hidalgo, explained that the extension would enable them to double the maintenance work carried out at the airport, making room for six aircraft instead of three.
Air Europa's maintenance department has a turnover of some nine million euros per year and employs approximately 200 people.
The extension means that Air Europa will be able to service bigger aircraft, like the Airbus A330.
Air Europa also has a long-standing agreement with the regional government allowing them to provide apprenticeships in aircraft maintenance. |
