A ‘GREEN’ bus has just hit the road in Madrid, running on a combination of electricity and diesel.

The first of its type to be manufactured in Spain, the ‘Tempus’ bus uses electric tractionand a regenerative braking system that is capable of recovering up to 30 per cent of the energy it uses up.

A small diesel engine helps to recharge the batteries and provide backup.

The ‘Tempus’ will run for five weeks on different transport routes to check its performance, results and capabilities.
