| SIX people have been arrested at Madrid’s Barajas airport this weekend after trafficking more than 10 kilos of cocaine in suitcases and strapped to their bodies.
The first of the arrests took place this morning and involved a couple in their 40s, of Spanish and Dominican nationality, who arrived on a flight from Buenos Aires.
Each had swallowed cocaine and were taken to hospital for it to be purged from them.
A Spanish man of 56 and a 25-year-old Polish girl were also arrested today after arriving on flights from the Dominican Republic with cocaine in their suitcases and strapped to their buttocks, respectively.
Yesterday, two men, of Argentinean and Cameroon origin were detained after landing from São Paulo on a connecting flight heading for Amsterdam.
They each had around a kilo of cocaine about their person.
