| The National Police have confiscated 9,000 'false' viagra tablets that were being sold on the internet.
Four people have been arrested for importing and distributing tens of thousands of phoney viagra tablets in Spain, with a possible value of over 50,000€.
The tablets seized in raids on three different properties in the Alicante area were imitations of well-known brands of viagra and had been imported from China and India.
They were being sold via the internet with neither prescription nor medical supervision.
According to the National Police and the Guardia Civil, the websites, which were very professional in appearance, have now been blocked pending a judicial enquiry.
Police have revealed that the group of delinquents involved were using anonymous P.O. box numbers to send the goods out to customers and to receive payment by return, and that they had been carrying out their own ad-hoc investigations to confirm their clients' identities in an attempt to avoid a police investigation.
The operation was carried out jointly by the Technological Investigation Squads of both the National and Alicante police forces. |
