| TERRORISTS have assassinated a policeman in Vizcaya after planting a bomb in a car park.
Father-of-two Eduardo Puelles García (pictured) was killed instantly when his vehicle and five others burst into flames just minutes after the explosion – thought to be the work of Basque separatists ETA - yesterday.
His wife and two children, aged 16 and 21, heard the bomb go off just metres away from where Eduardo, 39, was parked.
The bomb, comprising around two kilos of explosives, had been installed near the petrol tank of his car, blowing up when the victim switched on the ignition.
Police believe the blast was caused by ETA, who are also thought to be behind another three attacks in Bilbao, just a few kilometres from Arrigorriaga (Vizcaya) where yesterday’s explosion took place.
These took place between October 2007 and September 2008, targeting the escort Gabriel Ginés, the socialist party’s headquarters, and a police officer respectively.
