| CHART-TOPPING pop-rockers El Canto del Loco’s latest album has gone triple platinum this week.
Their fifth CD, Personas, was Spain’s top seller in 2008, shifting 240,000 copies.
Band members David Otero, Chema Ruiz and lead singer Dani Martín donated their three platinum discs to their parents as a reward for their help during the group’s long musical career.
They received the award yesterday in the Caixa Fórum auditorium in Madrid, presented by motorcycling champion and El Canto del Loco fan Jorge Lorenzo.
El Canto del Loco says the key to their success is simply enjoying their work.
“The secret is to like what you do. We throw our heart and soul into it because we love it,” they revealed.
The group is in concert in Barcelona’s Palau Sant Jordi on October 2 and in Madrid on October 29.
The following month, they intend to release a new CD and DVD combined, comprising “the 18 best musical moments we have lived through.”
