| AN off-duty police officer who shot his neighbour during an argument in the street is being held in custody.
The victim, a 45-year-old man who lives a few doors away from his attacker in La Zubia (Granada) is said to be in a serious but stable condition in hospital, on a life support machine and sedated.
He is said to have become embroiled in a heated discussion in the street with his neighbour, a 36-year-old Local Police officer, some time after midnight.
The victim is said to have pulled a knife on the policeman, who responded by shooting him four times in the chest and abdomen.
According to the Guardia Civil, the officer was off work for ten days on paternity leave.
The cause of the argument has not yet been revealed.
