A RAFT carrying 16 immigrants – one of whom is pregnant – was found off the coast of Almería yesterday.

Coastguard rescuers say the jerry-built craft was one of seven heading for the shores of Cabo de Gata that have been intercepted this weekend.

It was located 13 miles off the coast.

Those on board – 14 men and two women - were all of North African origin, and included a disabled man and a pregnant woman.

Emergency services were called out to provide medical attention to the would-be migrants.
