|  A NEW court order has ratified the charges against 20 people held responsible for the Guadalajara forest fire which killed 11 firemen in 2005.
The decree, presented by judge María del Mar Lorenzo, has rejected the defence’s appeal to let off the group of walkers who lit a barbecues in the mountains which got out of control and wiped out several kilometres of countryside.
Of the 12 firemen working on the blaze, the only survivor was the one who sought refuge under the fire engine when the flames surrounded them.
The accused parties have five days to appeal. |
