A DIVER has lost his life in the sea off the coast of Arona (Tenerife), confirm emergency services.

The victim, 33, an experienced diver, set out at around 11.00hrs yesterday from the coast between Ten Bell and Montaña Amarilla.

When he did not return within a few hours, family members called 112.

The Local Police and coastguard services went out in boats and helicopters, combing the beach between Montaña Amarilla and Las Galletas.

But later yesterday afternoon, they discovered the man’s body in the sea.

It is not yet known exactly how he died.
