FIB concerts cancelled due to gales
18/07/2009
BENICÀSSIM festival organisers have called off today’s concerts due to high winds.
They also suspended the musical acts last night between 22.15hrs and midnight.
The 45,000 people in attendance have been asked to leave the area over fears for their safety.
Last night, the acts kicked off again at midnight with US-based band, Tom Tom Club, made up of two ex-members of Talking Heads.
During their performance, other parts of the camp were left without electricity after the supply became cut off due to the winds.
Security staff are in the process of evacuating the camp.
