| AN estimated one thousand investors in Spain are thought to have been affected by the Lehman Brothers’ crash a year ago.
According to figures provided by bank account holders and solicitors’ officers, the number of cases of legal action taken against national and international financial institutions exceed 80 with a further 400 out-of-court claims being made that have been registion with the Association of Financial Services Consumers (AUSBANC).
Additionally, the Association of Bank, Building Society and Insurance Consumers (ADICAE) reveals that it has presented 15 legal cases against banks in connection with the Lehman Brothers’ collapse.
ADICAE is also acting as defence in the name of a further 500 consumers who invested average sums of between 30,000 and 40,000 euros.
Citibank España has received 122 claims since April, totalling around three million euros, whilst Bankinter is facing claims from 79 customers totalling more than 10 million euros.
Deutsche Bank has received claims from 34 customers, with the total amount reaching nearly three million euros, whilst Banif, an affiliate of Banco Santander, is facing action from 36 customers to the tune of 3.5 million euros.
Other investors are taking action to recover monies from Bankpime, Banco Sabadell and Fibanc, reaching around six million euros.
