| Torrential rain continues to affect the Mediterranean coastal areas and the Comunidad Valenciana, Murcia and the Balearic Islands are all on alert.
The State Meteorological Office (AEMET) has issued an 'orange alert' (high risk) for the Comunidad Valenciana, where over 120 litres of rain per square metre is expected to fall in the space of 12 hours, especially along the northern coast of Alicante province and the southern coast of Valencia province.
A 'yellow alert' has been isside for the province of Castellón, where 80 litres of rain per square metre is expected to fall in the space of 12 hours.
The same 'yellow alert' has been issued for the Balearic Islands, where 20 litres of rain per square metre could fall in just one hour. Murcia also has a 'yellow alert' and faces the possibility of 60 litres of rain per sqaure metre in the next 12 hours, specifically in the Cartagena and Mazarrón areas. |
