| RAFA Nadal is now out of the game in the Chinese Open, meaning there are no Spanish players left on the court.
His unexpected defeat at the hands of Marin Cilic means the world’s number 15, from Croatia, will now play Serbian Novak Djokovic, who beat Swedish player Robin Soderling 6-3 and 6-3 in two sets in the finals.
According to the ATP, Cilic brought Rafa down in the first set, meaning he had lost his confidence by the second.
The Croatian’s aggressive playing meant Mallorca-born Nadal did not have time to think on his feet.
Rafa last won the Chinese Open in Peking in 2005.
