| IBERIA has cancelled over 400 flights due to leave on Monday and Tuesday due to its cabin crew strike.
Those routes particularly affected are the ones that link Madrid with Andalucía, the Comunidad Valenciana, the Basque Country, Barcelona, Asturias and Galicia.
Flights from Madrid to the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands are believed to be going ahead as scheduled at this stage.
Anyone due on flights that start from the numbers IB5000, IB8000 or IB7000, operated by Air Nostrum – Iberia’s regional line - and Vueling, will still be able to fly, according to information presently available.
International trips that will now not take place include flights to Lisboa, Paris, London, Brussels, Amsterdam and Frankfurt, to and from Madrid.
The strike has been called by the two unions CTA and SITCPLA, faced with the airline’s continued refusal to sign a collective agreement with cabin crew staff.
This agreement includes, among other issues, a pay rise for staff, whose salaries have been frozen for the last four years.
Enforced early retirements have also been announced by the airline.
A further strike will take place on November 10 and 11, although at present it is not known which routes will be hit.
More information will be released as and when it arises, but anyone who is unsure as to how their flights may be affected should contact the company they booked with.
