A 79-YEAR-OLD man has given himself up to police after stabbing his housemate to death.

The self-confessed killer, José Francisco S.P., said he and his flatmate, a man of 61, had had an argument which became heated and eventually led to violence.

National Police say the murderer, a Spaniard, lived with the victim in the La Ribera district of Barcelona.

He turned himself in shortly after the incident, which occurred at around 10.40hrs yesterday morning.
