| IBERIA has been forced to cancel 368 flights today due to an ongoing strike organised by cabin crew.
It is estimated that the strike will affect 40,000 passengers.
Of these, 121 flights are international, 12 of which are long-haul with destinations that include New York, São Paulo, Buenos Aires and Mexico D.F.
The four strike organised to date by Iberia staff – two of which took place last month – it is expected that the cabin crew will down tools until at least Wednesday.
Iberia's failure to come to an agreement over working conditions and pay with the unions representing the staff are the motives behind this latest picket.
The company says it has started 33 disciplinary actions against the unions for failing to provide at least a basic level of cover during the strike days.
Anyone due to fly with Iberia between now and Wednesday is advised to check with the company that their flight remains on schedule, since trips that are not cancelled may experience some delays.
Flights all over the country could be affected. |
