| SUMMER storms in the north of Spain have led to a children's camp being evacuated in Navarra and have damaged around 20 parked cars in its capital, Pamplona.
A number of garages have also been flooded out, and several public offices filled with water.
Traffic had to be cut off until 04.00hrs this morning after a sudden rain and hail storm just after midnight turned most of the city into a lake.
Water was up to the wing-mirrors of cars parked on some roads.
A total of eleven provinces are on red alert for torrential rain and thunder storms today, with up to 25 litres per square metre per hour (approximately 25mm) expected to fall in Burgos, Soria, Huesca, Teruel, Zaragoza, Lleida, Tarragona, Barcelona, Girona and the regions of La Rioja and Navarra.
Conversely, Albacete, Mallorca and Murcia are on alert over extremely high temperatures, which are expected to reach at least 36ēC in the shade today.
