| A 54-year old man, Tomás B.B., worker at a Cepsa petrol station in Abarán (Murcia) was stabbed to death last night by one or various people who entered the shop with the intention of stealing.
The murder took place around 22.00 hours, in the petrol station at kilometre 37 of the N-344 road at its pass through Hoya del Campo, according to Local Police and Emergency Co-ordination Centre sources.
Emergency telephone number 112 received a call at about 23.00 hours by a man who stopped to fill his car up with petrol and warned the emergency services that there was a body lying on the floor with a severe wound in his neck.
Guardia Civil and Local Police agents went to investigate, as well as an emergency medical unit (UME) from Cieza, whose personnel confirmed the man’s death. Apparently the man had been hit and then stabbed with a large knife that hasn’t yet been found. The assailants did not take anything from the petrol station, according to these sources.
It turns out that this petrol station has seen three robberies in the last three months, and during the last one on November 28th another worker was threatened with an axe. The Hoya del Campo petrol station is currently closed and under vigilance by the Guardia Civil.
