| THREATS of mass redundancy at Benidorm theme park Terra Mítica have caused a stir in and out of the company.
Head of tourism for the Costa Blanca, Gema Amor, says she is 'very worried' over the recent announcement that the park may have to get rid of a large number of its staff.
The troubled theme park went into receivership in 2004, and has barely been out of the woods since.
Last month, the group that owns Mundomar and Aqualandia – two huge water parks in Benidorm – bought Terra Mítica.
Amor stresses that when the firm is considering redundancies, they should remember that unlike the other two parks, which are seasonal, Terra Mítica can operate all year round and now is its chance to claw back customers and promote itself heavily.
