| A BRITISH gang thought to be behind a massive drug-smuggling operation that involved peddling class A substances in Ibiza nightclubs has been arrested.
The racket was organised from the UK and the ringleaders of the gang rented luxury villas in one of Ibiza's biggest tourist hotspots.
Their dealers were set up in flats in the area.
According to the Guardia Civil, they used young people working in public relations for nightclubs on the island as dealers.
Police have arrested 14 men and 11 women, amongst which are two Irish nationals, a Czech, a Slovak and a Spanish woman.
All the rest are British.
After raiding 12 homes in San Antonio de Portmany, Santa Eulàlia del Río and San José de Sa Talaia, they found more than 38,000 ecstasy tablets, four kilos of cocaine, 250 grams of ketamine, 50 grams of MDMA and four litres of liquid ecstasy as well as 56,000 euros in cash thought to be the proceeds of drug sales.
