YET another young tourist has fallen out of a hotel balcony in Ibiza.

So far, most have escaped with minor injuries this summer, but the 25-year-old man lost his life in his fall from the seventh floor of a block in Playa d'en Bossa.

The tragedy is said to have occurred at around 07.10hrs on Sunday morning, although it is not yet known what caused the accident.

Every summer in the Balearic Islands – mostly in built-up tourist hotspots in Ibiza and Mallorca – numerous cases of young holidaymakers falling out of windows or off balconies are reported.

In some instances, these mishaps are the result of drunken or drug-fuelled revelry that turns tragic.

Whilst many simply suffer cuts and bruises and occasional broken bones, there have been a number of fatalities in recent years.

Hotel bosses on the islands are working hard to raise awareness among their younger tourists about being prudent when partying, to avoid accidents of this nature.
