National Police were checking "100 Peseta" discount stores on the Cobo Calleja estate in Fuenlabrada yesterday evening in search of the source of the firework which killed a 19 year old boy on the Perales del Río estate in Getafe. Police sources reveal that illegal fireworks are known to have been sold on the nearby estate in previous years. Police scientists will be working hard over the next few days to determine whether the firework was in fact, homemade, which is the theory put forward by Getafe Local Police. The 19 year old youth was with friends when the accident happened. According to sources in the emergency services, he suffered second and third degree burns to his face and hands, a serious internal haemorrhage, and brain damage.
