Royal household sends out its Christmas cards

King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia have chosen a photograph of the Palacio Real (Royal Palace) by night as their Christmas greeting card this year, whereas Prince Philip and Princess Letizia have chosen a photo of their two daughters, Leonor and Sofia.

The Prince & Princess of Asturias' card is the only one to be writtten entirely by hand (by the Prince) and is signed by both of them, with Letizia signing on behalf of their young daughters.

The Infanta Elena has gone for a picture of herself together with her two children in the Plaza del Obradoiro, in Santiago de Compostela.  The photo was taken at Easter after they had all walked a section of the Camino de Santiago.  She has chosen to send her Christmas greeting in Spanish, English and French.

The Infanta Cristina's Christmas greeting shows a picture taken in the summer of her four children, Irene, Miguel, Pablo and Juan, leaning against a tree trunk.  The greeting inside is written in English and Spanish, and the Infanta, her husband and all the children have signed the card.
