Manuel Llorente, president of Valencia Football Club, announced today that Mauricio Pellegrino will take over as manager for two seasons when Unai Emery's contract ends.

Pellegrino, who played for Valencia for five seasons, was part of Rafa Benítez's management team at Liverpool and at Inter Milan, but makes his debut as manager with his former club.

The Argentine (pictured, right) will take over at Valencia on July 1st, as soon as Unai Emery, who has managed the club for the past four seasons, leaves.

Llorente confirmed that an agreement was reached with Pellegrino last Friday and that the manager himself will give a press conference when he takes over to explain the details of the contract.
