| Actor Hugh Laurie, best known in Spain for his role as Doctor Gregory House in the series of the same name, will be playing gigs in a number of Spanish cities in July, as part of a world tour to promote his blues album "Let them talk". Laurie sings lead vocals and plays the piano and guitar.
The first concert will be in Barcelona on 26th July, in the Arteria Paralel theatre; the following day, Laurie and his band will play at the Circo Price in Madrid, as part of the Los Veranos de la Villa programme; and on 29th July they will play in Marbella as part of the Starlite Festival.
"Let them talk", released last year by Warner Music, topped the charts in a number of countries and is now the inspiration behind a world tour that will take Laurie and his backing group to the United States, Argentina, Chile, Russia, the UK, Holland, France and Germany, amongst other countries.
Laurie has previously played guitar in different episodes of House and guested as a pianist on Meat Loaf's's 2010 album Hang Cool Teddy Bear following an appearance from the US rock star on the TV show. He also appeared in the music videos for the Kate Bush single Experiment IV in 1986 and the 1992 single Walking on Broken Glass by Annie Lennox.
Other actors to have embarked on musical careers include Woody Allen, Bruce Willis and Kevin Costner, as well as Scarlett Johansson and Juliette Lewis. |
