| A TEENAGER has been frogmarched to the police station by his father and forced to confess to stabbing an elderly couple in their own home.
The brave dad suspected his 15-year-old son had been behind the murder of a 72-year-old woman and the attempted killing of her husband in the O Viso area of Redondela (Pontevedra) in Galicia.
When National Police found that the father's statement coincided with that of the surviving victim, the teenager was arrested.
Neighbours of the couple had said all day on Wednesday they saw a vehicle with several people inside acting suspiciously.
Police treated the wife's death and husband's injuries as an assault, ruling out domestic violence based upon witness statements.
The woman's body was in a pool of blood in their house, and her husband was lying near her, seriously injured.
He was taken to hospital, where he reported that he and his wife had been stabbed by two individuals.
Officers say the teenager is proving to be uncooperative with their inquiries.
Numerous people have praised his father for his courageous act in taking his son to the police station, but believe that overprotective national laws dealing with underage criminals will mean the accused may get off very lightly.
