SPAIN'S World Cup hero Andrés Iniesta tied the knot this weekend with his long-term girlfriend, Anna Ortiz, in what was arguably the sporting wedding of the year with 300 guests.

The star-studded congregation included members of the Murcia-based pop-rock band Estopa, Spain's manager Vicente del Bosque and past managers Luis Aragonés and José Antonio Camacho, Barça club president Sandro Rosell and past presidents Joan Gaspart and Joan Laporta, former trainers Pep Guardiola, Frank Rijkaard and Louis van Gaal, present and previous Barça players, and Spanish team players, including goalkeeper Iker Casillas and his girlfriend, journalist Sara Carbonero.

Theirs was a civil wedding, and the ceremony took place at Tarragona's Tamarit Castle, presided by mayor José Félix Ballesteros.

A restaurant in the village of Ruidoms (Tarragona province) played host to the reception, which saw a turnout of 700 guests.

Iniesta and Anna have been together for four years and have a daughter, Valeria, who is now 15 months old.
