A SPANISH student has been found dead in his flat in Bournemouth, and British police are treating the incident as murder.
Sergio Retamar, 23, from Coín (Málaga) had taken a year out to study English and work in a hotel in the Dorset city, but recently had to return to Spain due to injuries suffered in a traffic accident.
Just over a month ago, he went back to the UK and to his shared flat on Beechy Road, just above a pub.
His decapitated body was found in the property on Tuesday and a 29-year-old British man was caught soon afterwards at the station, covered in blood, which turned out to be that of the victim.
Some of Sergio's friends say he 'lived in terror' of 'someone who was threatening him'.
Other sources say the accused is one of Sergio's flatmates and that he showed 'strange behaviour' on a regular basis.
Sergio and another flatmate had attempted to get the suspect out, reports claim, and both of them slept at night with their bedroom doors locked because they were afraid of what he might do to them.
The victim is an only child and his parents are said to be 'inconsolable'.
British police say they are not searching for any further suspects in their inquiries.
